The Lucy Foundation was born in New Zeland for a group of Young people who are commited to developing inclusive, etical bussines models, with a focus on meaningful employment for people with disabilities.
In 2016, The Lucy Foundation established a team on the ground in Pluma Hidalgo. The aim of the Pluma Coffee Proyect is to create local, organic coffee production in Pluma, for coffee drinkers in New Zeland.
To do this, in Pluma we work with indigenus coffee farmer families all afected by disaability, to help them increase the cuality and cuantity of their coffee. We also help disabled family members to become trained and employed between the local coffee industry throught beekeping, barista coffee training, coffee tours, coffee harvest and procesing.
The Lucy foundation uses coffee to encover disabled people to work on coffee farms that their families have been working for generation, in order to become more active in their comunity. The Project not only strives for the good enviroment, the comunity and the economy, it is inclusive off disabled people at every level, from coffee seed to coffee cup.
